Essential oil and phytochemicals
The essential oils of coriander are 80 percent of the aliphatic Aldenhyden Dencanal and tridecenoic in roots, herb and unripe fruits-(2)-al. Main component of the essential oil of coriander mature fruit is, however, the monoterpene alcohol linalool.
Other ingredients are flavonoids, Furoisocumarine and small amounts of Alkylphthaliden. The exact effect on the human body and nervous system are not well enough understood.
